ABOUT

CLINIC CURRENTLY CLOSED

OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE

NP on Wheels is an innovative service created to meet needs of patients who do not want
the inconvenience of waiting rooms,  who prefer to have care at their home or office
and who want top quality care in the least amount of time.

The core value of NP on Wheels is that the care of the patient comes FIRST
and that every medical service we provide will be outstanding.

We began our service by developing an efficient software platform with which to
service, care and interact with our patients and have simply provided outstanding care to
patients one person at a time.   This beginning has led to our existing staff
being fully booked and this geometric growth has created a need to add
additional staff after only a few months of operation.

Jenny St. Jean - NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

RN Nurse Practitioner (NP) MClScWH
Jenny is an optimistic and cheerful person who loves extreme sports, dancing, yoga, and music.  She believes everyone can benefit from both natural and westernized medicine and she loves incense, essential oils, crystals, and gemstones.
She was a community RN for 9 years, a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) specializing in wound healing for 4 years, and now is a primary care Nurse Practitioner (NP) for the last year with special interests in Medical Cannabis, skin disorders, and non-healing wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, arterial ulcers, and pressure ulcers.

She graduated from her BScN with the University of Ottawa in 2009 and shortly after grew a strong passion for helping the people in her community with palliative care, diabetes management, and wound care.  She completed her Master of Clinical Science in Wound Healing at Western University in 2013 and practiced as a CNS and provided wound care consultations around Ottawa to people with non-healing wounds and negative pressure wound therapy initiation and management.
As much as she was helping, she was finding she was still not able to help the people of the community as much as she wanted to, therefore in 2015 she moved to Winnipeg and started the Master of Nursing-NP program for primary care for people of all ages.
Throughout her NP program she specialized in geriatric care, primary care, at-risk youth, and studied the effects of medical cannabis for people with epilepsy. In her last year she was able to obtain a research assistant position at U of M assisting with a literature review on medical cannabis and cancer symptom management.
After graduating, she started a position working in a walk-in clinic for all ages to provide episodic care and medical cannabis assessments for a variety of conditions: insomnia, chronic pain, depression, anxiety to name a few. She is actively involved in the Winnipeg community and participates as a member in several WRHA wound care committees.
Jenny believes that every patient deserves a thorough assessment and evaluation and deserves to be listened to. She looks forward to meeting and working with NP on Wheels patients to help achieve the best health that works for them.

Sarah Tymchuk - PRACTICE CLOSED

RN Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Sarah has been a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner since 2013, and was a Registered Nurse for five years before that. After working in primary care in rural Nova Scotia she accepted a position with the military at 12 Wing Shearwater and CFB Halifax. She cared for active service military members where she encountered many unique and rapidly evolving health concerns. Sarah has a passion for helping people, and she loves that being a Nurse Practitioner allows her to do that on a daily basis.

She treats adults age 18 years and older for primary care concerns such as chronic disease management, complex health issues, muscle-skeletal injuries, infections, preventive medicine, and wellness promotion. Sarah has special interests in geriatric medicine, women's health, mental health, sexual health, and LGBTQ+ health. She is committed to ensuring patients and their families have their concerns heard and are involved in their care.

Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Sarah recently moved to Winnipeg with her young family and has quickly fallen in love with the diversity and friendliness of the city. She loves being outdoors, either in the woods chasing squirrels with her kids and dog, or at the nearest beach, where she will learn to love lakes as much as the ocean. Sarah is looking forward to the new adventure in Manitoba and to delivering excellent, compassionate, and collaborative care to the patients of NP on Wheels.

Debra Kantimere - currently not available
ADMIN ASSISTANT

Deb has had more than 20 years of experience working with homecare as a certified HCA. She has now worked for many years around South Eastman Health, working as a certified medical receptionist in various areas such as Steinbach, Vita, Sprague, Niverville and St Pierre. She is currently with the office now known as Southern Health.
When she started in the health care field many years ago, she found it very rewarding to help people to remain in their own homes by providing care and medical assistance necessary for day to day functioning, from meal preps to monitoring of medications, hygiene care and also providing assistance with mobility and daily routines and exercise plans set out by occupational therapist. From there, she moved on to obtain a Medical Receptionist diploma in 2010 and then continued in the health care field working the front line in medical offices, where she still works today.   She is thankful to Diane, who she has known for a number of years, that she has been given the opportunity to join the team at NP on Wheels.
